Emma’s Maternity Session: Beauty, Becoming & The Sweetest Moments Before Hello
Feb 26 2026 | By: Junolia Studios
Some maternity sessions are about documenting a baby bump.
This one was about honoring a season of becoming.
Emma is just two weeks away from meeting her newest little love, and before life shifts in the most beautiful way, we created space to celebrate her — her strength, her softness, and the quiet transformation happening in these final days.
Session One: A Milk Bath for the Mother
We began with something intentionally intimate — a milk bath session designed to help Emma feel beautiful in this season.
Soft white water. Floating florals. Gentle light.
There is something incredibly sacred about a mother in water — surrounded by petals, cradling the life she’s grown. The milk bath created a dreamy, almost ethereal feel. Every detail was intentional: the delicate flowers, the softness of the fabric, the way her hands instinctively rested on her belly.
This session wasn’t just about photographs. It was about reminding her that even in the waiting, even in the stretch marks and anticipation, she is radiant.
Motherhood looks powerful. And it looks gentle.
Emma embodied both.
Session Two: The Last Moments Before Big Sister
The very next evening, we met at Chimney Park in Pensacola just before sunset. The sky was soft, the air was calm, and everything felt like it was holding its breath in that golden in-between light.
But this session wasn’t only about Emma.
It was about her and her four-year-old daughter — these last days of it being “just us” before baby arrives.
They played on the swing.
They laughed.
They walked hand-in-hand along the water’s edge.
There was something so tender about watching her daughter lean into her belly, already so connected to the baby she hasn’t met yet. The shirt that read “big sister vibes” felt less like an outfit choice and more like a declaration.
One of my favorite moments was watching Emma lift her daughter into the air by the shoreline — laughter echoing, water reflecting beneath them. It felt symbolic somehow. This is the last chapter of one story before the next begins.
The Beauty of the In-Between
Maternity sessions like this remind me why I love what I do.
They aren’t just about documenting what someone looks like pregnant. They’re about capturing transition. The quiet before the cry. The final sunset before a family grows.
Emma gave herself space to feel beautiful.
She gave her daughter space to feel seen.
And together, they created memories that will one day mean even more.
In two weeks, a new baby will arrive.
But these moments — the milk bath, the sunset, the swing, the laughter — they will always be part of their story.
I cannot wait to see their family become four. 🤍
